For a team that we never really saw in action fully whence they were in their prime, the effect the Watchmen had on the entire DC Comics imprint and the world of superhero-dom, on a whole, reverberates across all plains.

Save for Dr. Manhattan, our superheroes are not endowed with superpowered abilities in the traditional sense. And while the glamour and fame garnered by crimefighting may have ensnared most of the members of the first generation of heroes, The second generation of heroes is the group that culminated into the short but prolific era superheroes before the government Act kicked in and made all non-sanctioned superherodom illegal, forcing the Watchmen to disband.

This era included the members Adrian Veidt aka Ozymandias, Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre II, Jon Osterman aka Doctor Manhattan, Edward Blake aka The Comedian, Dan Dreiberg aka Nite Owl II, and Rorschach. FYI, one of these guys would go on to kill millions of people in the greatest act of genocide the world will ever see. But it was for good reasons. Promise.
